Clown Tangs

I would like to hear some feed back from anyone who has had a clown tang.

Aclimation?

Feeding?

Tank mates?

Tank size?

Like to hear the pros and cons, I"m thinking about it, but would love to hear your experiences with them first.

Thanks:confused:

I kept a clown tang in my 280 until it cracked. It was a beautiful fish, from my exprience they need alot of room to swim. They are very active. Mine would not allow another tang to be introduced after him. Any tangs added before him were not a problem though.

i had one on hold recently but gave it up as i decided i wasnt ready for this fish just yet. i will get one but my system needs to be more established then it is.

my mate at the lFS said that just about all of the ones he has sold have done fine for a few months then perished without reason???

beautiful fish, gets big, agressive and is an ich magnet. colours are just stunning under bright light. very simular to the needs of a Sohal tang.

Just bought one!

Always wanted one, and since my new tank is being built I figured why not. Then I saw a needy specimen.

Unfortunately it was not doing great at the lfs, its very skinny, but picks at lr although not really feeding.

Only 1.5" so I am on bully patrol.

I love this fish so it can come out and go lone qt if nec, I just hope it starts eating protein rich food soon.

Not an easy tang at this size!

They're not super hardy, and once they're well established, they can wipe out your tank if they don't have enough room.

A well established healthy clown tang can be one of the most aggressive fish I have seen. Picking on angels, wrasses, tangs, etc. The also grow very large and needs lots of swimming room. There have been quite a few threads in the last six months here. Do a search and read them all.
