Clown trigger help

Hey peps, I woke up this morning to see my clown trigger not doing so well. I noticed him acting alittle lethargic yesterday but he was eating so I just kept an eye on him. This morning I noticed he has wedged himself behind the rocks and it just slowing breathing. He has what appears to be some kind of slim coming off him, his eyes are also cloudy. Im thinking of a bacterial infection but I'm not too sure. Anyone have any idea what it could be and or possible treatment?

He is about 4 inch long, I also have a yellow tang 4 inch, Niger trigger 3 inch, Niger trigger 4 inch, humu trigger 3 inch.
They have all been together for about 8 months, I added the tang approx a month ago. I did have a spiny box puffer that was about 5 inch who came down with the same symptoms about 2 weeks ago so I took him to the lfs and gave him to them so they could treat him properly. My tank is currently a 85 gal with 20 gal sump.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm am very attached to this fish.

I am assuming that the tank is a fish only system since the trigger is not a reef safe buddy... I looks like your parameters are okay.
Next question...

Are you using RO/DI water? or tap/well water?
The most common caused is by an imbalance in the water chemistry. but if it not...

I had this same issue before my crash last year... from what the LFS said, it was a major ich issue, and he told to do this and it actually worked for my puffer,tang, and french angel...

So... Increasing the water temperature, it will speeds up the life cycle of the protozoa. Keep in mind that increased water temperature may deplete the oxygen in the aquarium.
So, adding a few bubbling stone into the water to allow more oxygen in the water...

Try that out if that made any sense...

Yes I am using RO/DI water, the salt I use is Instant Ocean. I've never used any other water but out of my
own RO/DI and have used the same salt since the tank was started, I do water changes every other week. I was wondering about ich, but wouldn't they all have ich if it was a ich boom? Also it is a FOWLR tank.

If it's little tiny white grains of sand, it's most likely Crypt. If it looks like mucus coming off the fish, you could be dealing with Brook. Ask the fish store about the fish you previously brought to them. If they got it healed, you can ask what treatment they used, if it died you can ask what treatment they used so you can approach it differently. I would get the little bugger out of there and into a QT anyhow, I would imagine that is a pretty aggressive tank come feeding time, allowing it to feed in peace can go a long way.

letting the trigger get nice and fat will help him out with the ich issue also...
