Clown vs Anemone

I am sad at the loss of my new green tip. I have had a fairly large maroon clown in the tank for a couple of months.
This is the anemone that I have placed in the tank. At first the clown left the anemone alone then over the last several days the clown constantly attended to the anemone to the point where the anemone succumbed to the abuse. I don't believe it's demise was due to other factors, the clown just never left the poor thing alone.
I would like some feedback on the recommended size relationship between the clown and the anemone and any other advise.

Yep, 1:3 is the ticket. My first bta was 1:2 and she beat the crap out of it until it shrunk to the size of a dime. I then got a 1:4 replacement and nursed the dime one back to size while she ignored it. Maroons are infamous for puttin on some heavy love.

You can go both ways with that one. It should be roughly 3 times the size of your clown. If your clown is 3" then a 9"+ BTA would suit it well. I have also known people to quarantine off a section of their tank to let the nem settle with eggcrate or something similar. But if you get a real healthy specimen then it shouldn't matter.

Really? I have a BTA with a pair of tomatoe clowns. The anemone was fairly small ~2" when I got it, and it is now up to 6" from all the food the clowns give it.

Yea, my GSM female lays the smack on her LTA. but it's like a 6:1 ratio though, so it can take the beating.
