OK so on Friday I removed my G/S maroon clown from my tank in preperation for the pair of percula's. since then my RBTA has been acting strange the other day it was stiff as a board not swaying in the current or anything. one day it was stretched out like an aptasia and now today the strangest yet....it is drawn in and looks like a tomato!?!? could it be because the clown is gone and has been replaced with a midas blenny or some other problem. no abnormal changes in water chemistry or anything.?.? what do you think?

anems have no brain, so strange behavior is to be expected....

i cite my sister in laws baby's daddy as a reference, he has no brain an acts very oddly

Could be anything, they may have no brain but they do indeed react to stimuli and lack of stimuli. In this case though it's hard to say 100% what is going on. Had you changed anything else in the tank, anything at all? Is the temperature, salinity, etc the same? Is the anemone trying to split? Any none or all of these could be factors.

OK just found a bristle worm in a rock that was directly under my anemone. searched bristle worms on the web and found that they eat anemones. could this thing be the problem???????

haveta be a big friggin worm, but also bristles can smell death=food so it may be telling you something too, (the worm that is)

tellin me that the anem. is dying? it looks healthy just acts wierd... not like turning inside out or nothin.

Oh OK nothin for you to be sorry about...I'm hopin the anem isn't dyin (have been for a while....but it keeps on keepin on)....it seems fine and has good color and form just stayin a little small not much growth if any over 5-6 months.....had a G/S maroon that was hosting in it but got rid of the maroon for a pair of percs that have yet to take to it...one week today since I introduced them.?.? I am a newbie here so all the actions of the tank have me wonderin if it is normal or not....I'm just glad when I wake up and all appears to still be alive....

99.7% of all bristleworms are harmless and good for your tank. Like Jim said they go for died/dying which is why they got a bad rap years ago but they don't specifically eat anemones.
A picture could really help us to figure out what is going on.

fwiw mine went 14 months with no clown when I traded a maroon for the skunk with no problems. Silly skunk fell in love with xenia at first

My cinnamon clowns choose a sponge over the BTA in their tank after hosting in it for a couple of months.
