Clownfish Acting Strange

I bought a True Perc about 4 days ago, he seemed to be doing fine...managed to clean my entire tank glass of copepods in 2 days. I added another True Perc about two days after I got him to see if they would pair and took to each other really quickly and looked to be doing good.

Well today the first perc I got seems to be keeping to himself a little bit, and when I fed the tank today he would just look at the food and turn away. He's kinda acting like he's hungry because he's pecking at stuff in the water, but wouldn't take the mysis. I'm almost 100% sure that he was eating it yesterday. Any ideas? Should I get something for them to live in or what?

Doesn't seem to have much of an appetite. Ate one small piece of mysis and that's it. Other clown ate about 3 or 4 pieces. Is this typical?

try any flake food? maybe soak the food in garlic / selcon also and have you tried anything other than mysis maybe its just not into the mysis

What kind of flake food should I try. Formula 1 or 2? How would I soak the food in garlic? I haven't tried anything other thank mysis yet. That was my guess that he didn't like mysis. He LOVES pods though.

get something like kent garlic extreme or take fresh garlic cloves and mash them as much as you can and then take the juice and add it to the food and any kind of flake

form 1/2
i use omega 3
you can even try pellets

new life spectrum is very good i use that also.

You can try some brine shrimp.

My foxface does not like mysis, will not eat a single one, but loves brine shrimp. They also all eat formula 1 and 2 and Sprinula flakes. My pink skunk loves Sprinula flakes, although she spits out the really light colored flake in the batch.

Also maybe he just isn't hungry?

I will be tagging along. I also have a small true perc that was eating like crazy a couple days ago and now almost nothing. I also heard blood worms too, so I'm going to try them. I have flakes and mysis, but hes barely picking.

My clown now chooses to stay in the very top rear corner of my tank, or behind the filter. He rarely comes out of that spot, and doesn't seem to like flake much either. I've tried mysis and prime reef flake and he barely picks.

pH: 8.3
Nitrite: 0
Nitrates: 2.5
Ammonia: 0
Salinity: 35ppt
Temp: ~80F

Any ideas here?

I would def. buy Kent Garlic Xtreme...we had a seahorse that wouldn't eat and right after putting that in the tank, it ate everything. Just to see how it would affect my clowns, I put a few drops in their tank and right away they started acting hungry. This stuff really works.

I picked up my new Clown 4 days ago. He has hosted the same top corner of the tank for the last 3 days. He seems to be getting a little braver as each day goes by. Mostly before bedtime when the 10Ks get turned off under the Actinics. The best I have seen him do is go half way down the tank. He is scared of his own shadow. Last night he jumped into the overflow and through the U-tube to the other side. I'm not sure how long he was in there, probably an hour. He was pale when I fished him out but regained his color within a minute or two and did laps around the tank for the next 45 minutes. He was back in his corner when I turned on the lights and woke him up this morning.

Anyway, I just wanted to say that he is a Very picky eater. The only thing I can get him to eat is Formula 2. I am going to try some Marine Cuisine tonight.

It's all good. I just wish I could have known what was wrong with him so that I could have helped. =/

My other clown is fat and happy.

Hi, I started with 2 percs in my take and it appeared the female was picking on the male quite often. I took the female back to the store but the male still stays in the top right corner behind the heads.... he eats ut only if i sprinkle the food right over him. He defnitly doesnt like the mysis but will eat the normal food (Sera Granumarin) as long as you want to feed it to him...

I'm going to wait a little bit, and maybe try and get another true perc that I know is eating well and try to pair them again.

mine are not fans of mysis either, they were eating it in the beginning more, but now less and less. they love flakes though!! they will follow my hand back and forth in front of the tank when i have em'
