clownfish advice

I have a gold banded maroon that is about 3" and hosting a RBTA. A friend of mine is getting out of the hobby and is giving me an ocellaris clown that is about 1.5". Is it possible to put that ocellaris in my tank without the maroon wanting to kill it? My tank by the way is a 24g nanocube.

Thanks in advance for the advice.

Nope, the maroon will kill the false perc. Maroon's are the most territorial & obnoxious clowns around. My maroon wants to fight w/ my false perc constantly & they aren't even in the same tank. Tanks are near each other & the maroon is constantly picking at the glass & showing domination when he/she can see the false perc in the other tank.

That's what I thought, but someone was telling me that they would be fine as long as the false perc was smaller than the maroon.

That scenario may be fine if the fish were introduced to the tank at the same time, but seeing how the maroon has already set up shop, the false perc would just get killed.

No, both fish are females. You'll get a dead fish, and it probably won't be the maroon.

If the ocellaris was a juvenile, you *might* get a cross-species pairing, but even that is a long shot and requires diligence regarding introductions, etc.

I agree, the perc will suffer. My 5 yr old GB Maroon hosts my BTA and it is viscious. It goes out of it's way to leave the BTA on one side of the tank and travel to the other side to attack my hand lol.

I hear you on that one. I have a hard time with coral placement. My maroon is always attacking my hand!

The Maroon is definitely more aggressive than the perc. The perc will definitely be a gonner by morning. I wouldn't even add another maroon unless you had a bigger tank. Two percs would be okay to add together without the Maroon.
