Clownfish Biting Rock

This is usually pre-spawn behavior. They will clean one patch of rock free of everything, sponge, algae .... This is where they will attach their eggs. Feed them well the nex few days to week and they will spawn. You will notice that the female is rounder in the stomach also.

WOW!!! I hope that happens. the female is an onyx and the male is a picasso. that would be sweet to raise the fry. :D

I have a onyx picasso pair that just started this also :) Congrats... hope to see eggs soon for both of us.

Pre-spawn behavior like OrionN said, but don't hold your breath for them to spawn if it's the first time. The first time mine started it took over 4 months before they laid any eggs and then they ate them just as fast as the female laid them :( My old spawn thread. Hopefully you will have better luck than I did the first time.

Here is the picture of my Ocellaris pair laying their eggs. This usually happen in the late afternoon.

From the looks of it this has been going on for a while, because they have completely cleaned a portion of the coraline encrusted rock. If they spawn I don't have a clue what to do, but I think I'm going to put a piece of tile in for the next go around and give them to a local friend to raise.
