Clownfish depressed?

I had lost a clown fish awhile ago and never replaced it (not sure what happened - everyone else in the tank is fine). Regardless - the remaining fish seemed to become a recluse hiding in a rock....until we decided to bring another (smaller) osc into the tank. Now the original clownfish can't stop swimming around with its new comrade.

I'm not complaining - but what a major difference in behavior. Anyone else ever see something like this?

Yea.. we had hooked up a pair, and although they weren't together long, when the male passed the female seemed confused for a long while.. We got her another male, and since then (about two months) they spend all day with each other in one of their gigs..

We're overthinking how much they really "know" their mate, but yea, I'm sure there was some confusion going on..
