Clownfish disease?

I posted this in the new hobby forum and it was recommended I post on here too.

I bought a pair of black and white ocellaris clownfish a week ago. they're both juveniles and in my QT right now. on the bigger one I just noticed this white spot on one side of the body and a faint white streak on the other side. I can't tell if the dot is fuzzy or if there is mucus.

The lfs has already agreed to take back the fish if I want to return them. Would you guys say I should treat the fish or take them back? If I take them back how would I disinfect the tank?

is this brook? can someone confirm? how do i treat it?

With clownfish I would always suspect brook, though it could also be bacterial. It kind of depends what these fish have gone through, where they come from and whom they have been with before. For example, I have seen freshly arrived ORA clowns looking like this and die like flies.

Against Brooklynella a formalin bath is the best. I use FishVet's Formalin MS and follow their instructions. Though after the bath the fish need to go into an uninfected tank. For that reason I dip every new fish, especially new clownfish with formalin before they go into the QT.
In the QT you can also treat them with Cloroquine Phosphate. It has the benefit that it (likely) kills all the protozoan parasites.

the clownfish had been with me for a week before i spotted this. the lfs special ordered them for me since they had none left in store. i got the fish maybe 2-3 days after they got it from their supplier (don't know who it is).

so here's the next worry, i did a quick check between tanks to see if i shared anything. i did share a bucket to change water and a cup.

the process was:
i used the cup to take out water from the QT tank, and then that same cup to put new water into the QT tank.
afterwards i then went to change water in my DT. I put the old tank water into that same bucket, then put new water into that bucket again and slowly put the water into my DT.

would that be enough to transfer brook to my DT through that cup to the bucket? I only have a pearly jawfish in there right now and some snails.

yea it basically nullifies the point of a QT... ugh... such a dumb thing too. i'm just watching my DT like a hawk now. no signs of anything so far.
