Clownfish Disease.

I've had my clowns for 2 years. An oscellaris clown and a black oscellaris a couple months less. The black oscellaris developed white cotton like growths on him after about a week in my ank and infected my female clown not to long after that.

After I noticed this I tried several things. I first tried something called Primafix (or something like that). It was a compound that is supposed to help with cotton like growths and was safe to use in a display tank. After the full treatement, nothing changed.

After that I took them out and QT'd them in a 10g tank. I tried 3 different treatments in the 10g. The first 2 I don't remember the name of. One was like a tablet that reminded me of a Tums tablet. It floated on the surface in this styrofoam disk. The other was a series of capsules. I opened them and put them in the tank.

Neither helped either. After both of these I tried formalin. Also no go.

Eventually someone around these parts told me it was probably something they'd live with forever and as long as they appear healthy to just take them out of QT because it was just adding more stress then they'd need.

This was all over a year ago. I lost my black oscellaris over the holiday break and I plan to replace him soon. Can anyone identify the condition my clownfish had/have and can suggest something else for me to try and solve it? I really don't want to infect my new fish.

I DONT NO BUT I HAVE LOST 6 CLOWNFISH. DONT NO WHY THEY DIED. I WISH I DID. THEY WERE IN A 125 GAL WITH SOME TANGS. I HAVE ONE CLOWN THAT MADE IT SO FAR.
