clownfish eggs

ok so in going to atempt to raise some clown fish.
anyone have any xp with this?

Get used to not sleeping. :strooper: It seems like they have to be fed more often than a newborn baby. I think Dave or David will have some good tips on that. Walker Huie used to raise them locally, but he moved out of the area.

They are very hard to raise and you have to raise rotifers to feed them. We had a club member, Kathy Peck, in the Memphis club that raised lots of them. She is now in California. Still has her reef tank, but not raising clowns.

When useing a glass tank to raise fry,take some black paper or plastic to wrap around the tank,it helps the fry to spot food more easily.Have wanted to do this,but raiseing clownfish is very time consuming.Feeding three times a day,water changes everyday.I still may try it one day. Good luck with them

Ok, quick update... Not so good! I went from 50 ish to < 10 :'(
It sucks but u live and u learn, when i first started this i rushed into things way to fast. No joke it was like "my clowns just layed some eggs." three days later i had them a 10 gallon tank.
I have gained a ton of info on this now and, dont feel so bad because they would just have been eaten
If left in my buddies tank. Im sure i wont be the first nor the last to fail at raising these "cute little tadpoles" as my wife would say. With that being said, hopefully these few i have left will make it and i will be able to attempt this again!

All of th have died... Due to the rushing i failed to have food ready in time, i didnot keep the lights on the first 10 days (through meta as they say) , i did not paint the sides and the back of the tank black, my temps were off a bit i was heeping them at 77.5 f and im seeing most people keep theirs around 80 f to 82 f, and i also believe i had the bubbles to strong
after all this i did learn a quite a bit and should be ready next go around.
