I'm confused. If it was actually stuck, why were you video taping and not getting the fish out?

He was not caught. He was hiding but the larger clown just chase him out.

Ahhh... that is what it kinda looked like.. as it was NOT in the mouth.

HAHA... That nice little PROD at the end pushing it away shows it was not happy.

No.. The clown was added.. and had not had a chance to do whatever it is clowns do that allow them anemone access.. The anemone had a strong hold of it.. I saw the clown swim into it rapidly from being chased, then the anemone grabbed hold.

The larger clown ripped it out with aggressive behavior.. Not that it was saving the clown, just wanted it out of the anemone. The little clown would never choose to be that close to such an aggressor

not totally sure the nem caught the clown per say. def looked like it was hiding from the platinum clown. also an many anemone owners now, such as your self. if the nem thought that clownfish was food it would have starting closing up rather rapidly to bring it towards its mouth...

I agree. Also, if the clown was really caught, I'm not sure the two of them working together could get unstuck from a haddoni. I have a hard enough time getting them off my hand, and I can't imagine a couple of two inch fish peeling out that quick.

deangelr is a very experience clownfish breeder and anemone expert. He said it is caught, then I am sure it was caught.
Clowns are not like other fish and do have some defenses against anemones which we are not fully understand. That was likely what save the clown. Clown or not, if he get a full dose of the stings, he is likely not going to live. I think being a clown fish, the anemone maybe confused as to he is actually food or not. The anemone likely not fully stung him so he was able to excape.
