clownfish hosting elegance coral

They chances are it'll be fine, but if the coral doesn't like it then it will let the fish know (elegance aren't the most subtle of corals) and they will find a new host. Most probably anyway.

If they don't then you would need to either remove one or the other, or possibly add a more suitable host for the fish.

Not with a clownfish. Clownfish are built differently

The coral is the host. Once clowns decide they want to use something as a host they usually stay with it. No problem with them using the elegance as long as the elegance tolerates it.

Clownfish love being stung. Thats what can start the clownfish hosting the coral or anenome. Ive read that it starts a chemical reaction with the fish's skin. Clowns are immune to a lot of stings

Ah of course! Sorry I had a blonde moment there!

I actually meant that the elegance will close itself up if it doesn't want the fish there - thus forcing them to find a new host.

Oh I agree. Ive heard that they're known to be harrased by clowns

I haven't heard this myself but it makes good sense. Elegance are a lot like anemone except they have a rather fragile nature and distress easily.

Although for tonight there doesn't seem much point worrying about it, see how they are in the morning, your coral may well appreciate the fish cleaning up and detritus it has on it.
