Some clowns want something to host them more than others. I have four clowns in my tank. Two LIVE in the frogspawn, one believes his host is the overflow (don't ask) and one could not care less. They are clowns, hence the name.
Your clown does not need a nem to survive or even thrive.
Rather than deciding if you are giving something to the clown, better to decide if you have the conditions to sustain a nem.
Also keep in mind that even if you added a nem, your clown might decide that is not what it wants. Sometimes the nem/clown match does not work.
So do YOU want a nem as part of your tank? As crazy as your clown may be, it's fine without one.
(Which is not to say the clown cannot "love" some of your coral to death...that's possible too...)

i do like the look of an anemone. as far as being able to keep one, i currently keep arco and tube anemone so i think i would be able to. but i about to upgrade to a 180. so i would say no for at least 6 months. i never keep one before, but i was wondering what is the best one for clowns.

I would say any rose or green bubble tip anemone would be great for a clownfish to host in

There are different clown-host anemone combinations, so the choice of anemone does depend a bit on which clowns you are keeping. Bubble tips are generally the easiest to keep, though they're not natural hosts for most common clowns, so the fish may ignore it.
