Clownfish- How do I tell if it's male/female?

How do you determine the sex of a clownfish?
I believe I have a black male Ocellaris Clownfish...
(working on pictures... My iPhone doesn't like me..)

Can I put an orange female Ocellaris Clownfish in with him if I'm right?

I'm upgrading my system from a 30 to a 90...
I was going to put the 2 clowns in together in the new tank when it's ready.
My current clown is very happy hosting his Seabae nem..
Will I mess him up by putting another clown in the tank at all?
He is very docile.. And lately my 4 strip damsel has been beating up on him.. Don't want the same to happen if I put in another clown.
(really thinking of getting rid of my damsels in the switch also...)

Any advice would be awesome! Thanks

Get rid of the damsel. How big is your clownfish? How long have you had it in a tank without another clownfish? How old is it?

Lol I was thinking the same thing about the damsel.

I've had my clown over a year and he has been without another clown that whole time...
Also when I bought him at my LFS he was alone..
He was young when I bought him.. Still had orange that turned black.. Almost his whole face filled in..
And he is just short of 3"

I think you would be best to get the new clown smaller then the current one. If it has changed to a female then adding anoher female will be a very bad thing.

Also back to my other question... Can I put in an orange male with her when I pull off a tank transfer?
Or is she destined to be alone? Lol

I was also asking if it's possible it's still male even if it's been alone that long and had that long to mature...

I agree, bring the damsel back to LFS for store credit; & having been alone all this time, your clownfish is almost definitely a female by now & won't change back. Sure, it would be fine to get a much smaller orange clown in with the black/white one. Good luck!
