Clownfish making "beds"?

During the night my two yellow stripe maroon clowns will make little "bed" like holes/pits in the sand. Just wondering the significance of this. They do not have an anemone yet. (Getting a green bubble tip next week)

I have one that does the same. There are several pits in the sand bed that she created. Sometimes when i put my face close to the glass she turns around and swishes sand as if to throw it in my face.

I don't know for sure, but that could be the case.

However, in my case, I think the bugger is mean and just don't like me.
