So i have had my clownfish for about a year now and all the sudden i saw that one of my clowns is very lethargic and has one of his thins torn up. Its a 20 long with 2 clowns and a YWMG, i added a new firefish without quarintine on monday, put the clowns beat him up bad so i gave him back to the lfs. The clown is sitting in the corner and is the male from shat i can tell, the female goes at him some times but i dont think its her. Everyone is eating well. I have a 10g quarintine that i can move them to.

Does the LFS that you obtained the firefish from run a low level, non-therapeutic dose of copper?

Clownfish not doing to well

Idk i can ask them tommarow, they closed 4 hours ago. But probably not because they keep stars in with the fish

A low level of copper can mask symptoms of velvet. More than likely the unquarantined fire fish brought something in it your main. Are the fish eating and breathing ok? Are they flashing or just lethargic? Is there any mucus coming off the body?

They are all excited to eat, its just the one clown. They devour the food quickly. No flashing. Hes just lethargic. Should i do a fw dip? By mucus do you mean like stuff hanging off? Or what? I cant see any...

Is your 10 gallon QT set up? If so you may want to do a FW dip and move him into it. The dip will confirm flukes and knock down some of the parasites (velvet or brook) if there are any. Or you could just wait it out and see what develops.
You can google images for velvet and brook then compare them to what your fish looks like.

Is the lethargic clown eating and breathing normally? If so, I would just keep an eye on things (if it were me).

Ok guys, he hasnt changed overnight so i guess atleast its not getting worse, he still gets excited for food and even goes after NLS pellets like crazy. Dienonych he is breathing pretty fast, and is staying in one side of the tank. Other fish are fine

So should i only put the 1 clown in the qt? By the way its not setup at the moment. He gets depressed without his partner clown so should i move them both and keep the YWM in the display?

IME a fish that acts like that has something wrong with it. But it's up to you if you want to move it or not. Keep an eye out if he stops eating.

They go everywhere together and when i took one out once for just 3minutes the other started getting frantic and looking for its friend. I think i will watch it for a few days and see if the fin heals or not, i have the water ready and mixed for the qt, so i guess its just a matter of waiting now.
