Ok so it's been about three days now she has been doing this. 20 gallon tall tank 2 Darwin black percula clowns a pair. My female has been lying on the floor and breathing heavy. Male stays right by her side. At night when lights are off the stay about 3/4 of the way up the tank in the back corner. I got them on Sunday they were fine in there tank and bag but as of Tuesday she started this she still swims fine still goes for her pellets but keeps laying on sand and breathing heavy. Had water tested nitrate and ammonia 0 phosphate was on first level that's about all tanks at 80 degrees

Any signs of disease? White spots? Clowns are very susceptible to a parasitic disease known as Brooklynella, but that should have killed her by now. If you can take a pic of the fish that might be helpful.

my juvenile false percs did this a while back. they're fine now tho.. the only thing I did was a 25% water change (even tho water parms were all fine) and changed up what I fed them. started including a variety of mysis, brine & NL pellets. they seem to be happy now.

the only thing that I can think of that might of caused it was low oxygen maybe? the WC shoulda replenished this O2 right? this was in my QT, and it's currently got a lid on it, so air doesn't exchange very well. looking to replace the lid with a screen soon...

It's difficult to say what the problem is given the current description. Are there any other fish displaying these symptoms? The male is behaving normally and has a good appetite?

If no other fish are displaying the same symptoms, I doubt there's a water quality or toxin problem. You will likely have to keep watch and post any additional symptoms if they appear.

Good Luck.

Only the 2 clowns in tank besides snails and hermits They both are eating did a 25% water change and still the same and every now test fine
