Clownfish pairing/mixing question

I have had luck before with ocellaris and clarkii clowns before but has anyone kept ocellaris and maroons together in the same tank?

If introduced young at the same age and each given an anemone at opposite ends of a 100 plus gallon tank would this work?

Just wondering as I have been seeing more and more mixed clown tanks lately and have personally always loved those two varieties.

Are you talking about keeping a single clown of each species or a pair of each species? Im pretty sure oscellaris and maroons have been paired before

a pair of each, and yes I have seen them together before just not sure how well it worked out in the long haul

How big is the tank?

minimum 125 gal, may be converting my 180 to a reef so I may wait but would a 125 work

I havent had any experience mixing the two species because I dont think its right. It might work in the short run but long term im sure you will probobly only end up with one pair.

Yeah I would not recommend it. Youll most likely end up with a pair of maroons.

I have 4 ocellaris and 2 pink skunk clowns in a 135. They chased eachother for a day and now leave eachother alone. Having anemone at two seperate sides of the tank helps. I wouldn't recommend mixing with maroons because they get much larger in the long run then the ocellaris.

How long have you had them in there? Chances are with age they will mature and you will have one dominant pair that takes over the tank.

Ruffly a month...The occ. stay on one side and the skunks took up home in a leather toadstool...the dominate pair of ocellaris mainly hang out in the live rock...

I have heard it can work but im sure you are going to have problems in the near future.
