I woke up today and went to look at my tank and I saw both my clown fish on there side swimming at the top of the tank frantically. Is that normal is or is something wrong? the other fish in the tank seem fine.

wait until th elights come on. Mine sleep on the bottom and look dead until the lights turn on. Then they are decidedly alive. Mine have also blown around at night like dead leaves. It seems like they sleep harder (and less safely) than most other tank fish.

clowns that dont host hug the top of the tank at night.
Not all of them! Mine sleeps on her side in the sand -- she gave my husband the most awful fright the other morning, he came running into the bedroom saying 'she's dead, Lucy's dead!' Turns out she was just sound asleep. It's strange to me how she sleeps out in the open, completely fearless. Either she's very clever, and knows there's nothing in the tank that can hurt her, or very, very dumb :D

Mine sleep at the bottom out in the open, after 4 + months they finally started exploring the back of the tank and going thru the tunnels of LR and picking at it, they also have fallen in love with a suction cup thermometer and even if snails get close they will knock them off the glass.

yeah they can be pretty crazy, mine host a tuft of hair algae about 3 inches away from two GBTA? before that they hung out by a powerhead at night, i think they'll host anything. ( except in my case in the GBTA )
