Clownfish Trio

I have a pair of True Percs that have not completely paired up yet. They get along fine in my 40 gallon tank but they aren't together 100% of the time. However, it looks like they are in the process of pairing up. I am thinking about adding a third, smaller clownfish.

Is it possible to keep a trio or will they bully the new small guy?

Bully the small guy, in my experience, they are "starting" to pair up, means that they will join together and kick his butt. I've only seen multiple fish added at the same time, live very well with one another. Also, you could try catching the two out, moving some rock around and put 3 in at the same time, however there are no promises that this will work... Good luck!

If you have 2 that appear to be getting along well in a 40g, I think you are taking a risk adding a 3rd to such a small tank. From what I've read on this and other sites, if you plan on having more than a pair of clowns in the same tank then they should all be introduced together as juveniles. Good luck.
