Clownfish with large white stripes

We have this Clownfish, It has larger than normal white stripes on it. Very cool looking, but it does not seem to pair off with the other Clownfish we have tried. We had a black saddle back? as shown in the picture, but one of them never really changed sizes even after 2 years. And neither learned to host anything except for the black one which destroyed one of our Goniopora and then started on another one so we decided to get rid of it in favor of another common orange/white striped Clownfish. Granted it hasn't been very long since the current 2 have been together, but do the Clownfish have to look identical for them to pair off? Or is it possible it may pair off with this new fish? I have tried finding another Clown like this one with the larger white stripes, but I can't find a name for it. Everyone has said so far its just a common Clownfish but I have never found another one like it.

They are both ocellaris clownfish. It will eventually pair off with the new clown but would have paired off just fine with the black one as well. The wide stripe is really cool looking by the way. Also, the black clown in your photo is an ocellaris clownfish just the same as your orange one, just different color and misbared. As far as finding another orange ocellaris with a wide middle band, its an individual genetic thing and will probably be hard to find another just like it. It won't effect whether it will pair with your new clown though. Mixing clowns is how we get so many of the designer morphs anyway. Hope this helps.

Thanks! We are thinking about moving the clowns into a smaller tank of their own. Maybe we will have a chance to get some baby clowns that have the bigger white stripes.

In case anyone else likes the clowns with the larger white stripes, I found out today they are called "Vivid" Clownfish. A store we went to an hour from home actually had a tank with several of them and we picked up another one. :)
