I have a tomato clown hosting in a S. haddoni in a 28g aqua pod. I have had the clown fish for over a year, the Nem for about a year also. I want to try to breed my clown fish my question is do i need a tamato clown from the same part of the ocean? There is one from fiji and the other is from Indo pacific does it really matter? Should i get a small clown or one about the same size? thanks!

I really didnt think i would need a bigger tank since my tomato clown never goes far away from the carpet. But i think ill wait then untill i upgrade my tank. Thanks!

tomatoes get big. a full grown female will be around 5"
when you are ready to breed upgrade to a 55 gallon. your fish will thank you for it

Any tomato from anywhere will breed with any other tomato from anywhere. This does not mean that all tomatoes will breed with any other, because there is never a guarantee that any fish will definitely breed.

That being said to answer the question, this is just some info. All clownfish species can interbreed. This includes the premnas genus, or marroon clowns. So, in theory, your tomato would be able to pair and viably breed offspring with any other clownfish not of the same sex.
