Clowns acting weird?

Awesome Dude
I have a pair of black onyx clowns that i don't know if they are acting weird or normal. The bigger of the 2 has been in the tank for a few months and had spent most of the time in the top of the tank where the filter dumped water back into the tank until I added the powerhead. Now she swims down into the bottom area of the tank and has finally started to host in my frogspawn. Problem is that the soon to be male ( I hope) stays at the top of the tank. Rarely swims more than 4 or 5 inches from the top of the tank. Is this normal?

One thing about clowns (in general) is that their behavior is not predictable. (Like the cannibal said after eating the clown, "Tastes funny.") No such thing as "normal" except what a particular fish does...

How long have you had the smaller one? Was it in there before the other chose the frogspawn? Did they "get along" then? Has the larger one chased the smaller away from the frogspawn? (Probably...26 bow doesn't leave a lot of room for territoriality. I'll bet the smaller one is just trying to stay out of range.)

As long as he's eating, I think you're fine.

Regarding the sexing of the fish...they all start as males. The biggest, toughest in a group will turn into a female if there isn't already a female around.

They both get along fine. They were both in there before the frogspawn was added and The larger clown just recently started going to the frogspawn.

OH HAPPY DAYS!!!!!

My little one finally came down from the top and has taken to the frogspawn nicely. I finally got good pics to show off.
