Clowns and hosting anemones

I have a pair of clowns that finally paired up, it's a love hate relationship at times. I have a beautiful GBTA and have really been wanting my clowns to host it. The clowns were swimming around and my damsel chased after one and he dove into the anemone faster than you can snap your fingers. And I was like okay, that was easy. The clown didn't move and the anemone appeared to try and eat the clown, then the clown flew out and seemed fine. The clowns haven't really left the back corner which is where I believe they house currently a powerhead. I was just wondering if anyone has a good plan or idea to get the clowns to be hosted by the anemone. I don't really want to disturb the anemone because it is right in the front of the display which is amazing sight to see each day.

sounds silly, but try printing out a picture of clowns inside an anemone and tape it to your tank, facing in. I've heard a lot of success stories from people where this seemed to work.

I had my true perculas for two years without my rbta hosting them. It annoyed me to no end. I finally added a magnificent anemone, the percs were on it within 10 minutes. Within a week my percs were in the mag 90% of the time, but also being hosted by the rbta 10% of the time. It was strange.

Maybe add another BTA or anemone that is more likely to host them and they will be hosted by both eventually?

Pericyte the reason that happened is because Mag's are natural host of Ocellaris and Percula. BTA's are not, they're natural hosts to maroon clowns.

I've got 3 RBTA's in my tank and my clowns ignore them. I'm sure if I put a Mag in they would be in it in a heartbeat.

For sure, which is part of the reason I got the mag. It just shocked me that all the sudden the clowns became interested in the rbta after the introduction of the mag. I was not expecting it.

:hmm4: don't care how many people 'think' this to be true ....... It's not!
