Clowns attacking new fish...help

I have a 29 gallon NanoCube that has had two clowns in it since the beginning around 7 months ago. It appears that the clowns are okay with any fish that isn't orange or has stripes. They have accepted gobies, and jawfish without a problem

I just added a Midas Blennie and the clowns are attacking the poor thing. Is there anything that I can do to stop this? Or is the only solution removing the Midas?

I hate to see the Midas atttacked...need help figuring this out.

Thanks.

In a 29 you may have a hard time finding suitable tank mates for a pair of clowns. They're just real territorial and they will claim most of the 29 as theirs. I would remove the midas blennie ASAP.

I hate to jump in but this thread looks like it has not been posted to in a while. I have a similar problem with a 65 gallon. I have a False perc and a black and white and they are fine with the blue/green chromi that came with the tank and all the other inverts but any other fish I put in the tank seem to "Dissappear" within a day or two. Can I move rock around or do soemthing to reset their "domain" or do I just have to accept the fact that I either have to give up on other fish or get rid of them. I have received some great help in the past so TIA in advance for any help you can provide.

Thanks,
Ben

Hate to be a bother but I searched what I could on this forum and didn't see much.....thought I would try one more time.

Thanks,
Ben

If you don't have another aquarium to move the clowns to while the other fish get used to the new aquarium, move the rocks around. I had to put mine in the sump for a month while my other fish got used to the aquarium and then moved the clowns back. After that, the clowns were fine.

I have a qt tank so I suppose I could just swap them. I didn't know if they would return to their "Old ways" once they got back to their original home or not. Thanks for the advice!!!

I think mine were so happy to be back in the main tank after being in the sump they changed their ways :)

i am just about to add a fish into my 29g in a few weeks and i have a pair of clowns, huge BTA and 1 YWG in it now. This was definately some helpful information about taking the clowns out for a bit. wonder if i should pull the goby out too.

You could also rearrange the rockwork so the will be "confused" and think its a brand new home. You could then add the more docile fishes first, then the clowns
