Clowns become Agressive?

For some reason, my 2 black/white clowns have become very agressive towards my manderin, & 1 of the orange/white clowns, so much so i had to move the orange out to atempt to save it, it has like no tail left.

i started about may 06 with 2 black/white babies & 2 orange babies in a 20 gallon w/ 1 small manderin w/ ample pods. They all lived peacefully until 2 days ago. The 3 decided to gang up & attact the smaller orange clown, to the point it repeatedly jumped out of the water, luckily not out of the tank.

would sudden aggresion in an area be signs up spawning?

What exactly are black/white and orange/white clowns?

What do you mean by "ample pods"? If it's just normal amount of pods, it won't be enough in a 20g. Are you running a 'fuge?

you should read up on clownfish, sounds like you didnt study too hard before you bought 4 fish to o in a small tank
clowns do best in pairs
the will evnetually kill the third and you will be left with two clowns
the aggression is totally normal i would have predicted it to happen allot sooner.
get the mandarin out as well a 20g is reall hard to get them to live in long term

i have a manderin in my 15gallon for 2+ years & he is doing great, way to stay on the focus of my question. Oh by the way, i have had a hippo in my 20 for 3+ years & it's doing great too..

my question was, why after 1+year would the clowns turn on the 4th, when they all shared an anemone up to like a week ago. The remaining 2 blacks/1 orange are still together, i had to rescue the 3rd, but would still like to understand the behavior swing..

so they matured in 1 week?

no they matured the whole time you had them

the only thing that happens fast in reefing is death

sorry about the loss but this is what clowns do
