Clowns laid eggs

Kat's coming over and learning about breeding clownfish must have gotten mine in the mood. They laid eggs this morning!

My display had an outbreak of ich in the end of june. I decided to quarantine the only to fish in there and treat with hyposalinity. My two ocellaris clowns went into hypo for 6 weeks. I've been raising it slowly for the past week or so. The tank hasn't really been taken care of and is definitely not in optimal breeding condition. I haven't done a water change in 6 weeks, and don't really test the water much. I frequently forget to turn the overhead lights off at night, so the lights will stay on for 36 hours. I've been feeding mostly pellet food (formula 1) for the past 6 weeks.

Boy was I surprised to see eggs this morning. It's not a huge clutch, but it's pretty good. The specific gravity of their tank is still only 1.020. Don't worry about the algae, the clowns don't seem to mind either.

i'm not sure what I did actually except say, "ohhhhhhhh...i love the PVC all put together in different directions." try that. :D

hey kat can you come over and give my black clowns a little encouragement?

Feed as heavily as you can. Don't send your parameters out of whack, but feed as much as possible. Twice a day feedings until they won't take more food will get them spawning (provided they are mature enough).

I've acquired a couple pairs recently. I am trying to feed them 3 times a day. They are in a breeding system with about 40 pounds of live rock and massive water changes can be done easily. We'll see how long it takes them to start.

I took a better picture and counted roughly 300-350 eggs. Hard to believe there is that many there.
