Clowns nipping each other?

Long story short one of my original clowns went carpet surfing sometime during the night. I replaced him with a small 1.25in juvi missbar Occ. Which my large 2.5in Occ harassed nonstop. So I took the 2.5in Occ. and traded it in for another juvi Occ, about 1in. The missbar is constantly chasing and nipping the new arrival (hes currently serving time in my mothers strainer which is floating in the tank). Does anyone have any clue how long that behavior might last?
They two clowns were originally in the same tank at the LFS with about 5 other similar sized clowns and about 10 anemones if that makes a difference.. I guess I'm just surprised how much changed in the last 36ish hours..

Many clowns come unsexed. They will work out the sex by acting out on each other. Turning the lights out a few days would help calm them.GL...

They have to choose dominance. You might want to do something so the next ones do not go surfing, either.
