Clowns not spawning

Hello everyone. Just a couple questions if anyone has some experience in clownfish spawning.

I have two 10 gallons and a 20L drilled to a sump. I have a pair of fancy snowflake clowns that I just can't get to spawn. I have the light on a timer for 9 hours. I feed them mixed frozen food (Mysid, brine, and emerald entea) along with a food dispenser on a timer that feeds an addition 4 times Aday. The temperature is at 79 degrees Fahrenheit, and I do a 10% water change weekly. I have noticed the male keeps a spot on a clay pot clean and the female always checks his work. He always vibrates and rubs on the pot and around the female. But it has been several weeks now and I still don't ever see any eggs. Definitely around the time the lights get ready to go off I always hope to wake up with eggs but never any luck. Any suggestions???

How long have you had them ? It can take several months at least before a pair of clowns will spawn.

try putting flowers and chocolate in there nest. .......... Don't put chocolate and flowers in ur tank...lol personally I don't like to get down when someone's always starring in the window either Bit creepy. Ok I'm done.. I've had a mated pair for two yrs and no baby's either.

I've had them for about 9months now. They are definitely a pair, they just haven't spawned. Barry white was a no go. And chocolate did nothing in the nest. My chocolate chip star fish went nuts, but didn't affect the clowns lol.

No seriously though they are for sure a pair. The male constantly cleans the flower pot, and the female follows sometimes. Just hoping for some advanced pointers

No anemone? And it sounds like its just the two of them in there. Not really sure how you would encourage it, I mean you did have 'the talk' with them right?

No I don't have an anemone. I was going to get one for my other pair of clowns because they dont seem to be close to spawning. The male surrenders to the female but he doesn't clean any part of the tank for the female to lay eggs. I feel that the fancy snowflake clowns are really close just not sure. I might try an anemone. Probably a small carpet or bubble tip. And recommendations on anemones?

Give it time. It will happen. Don't need an anemone. They will clean then act if they will but don't. This happens over and over. Then one day it will. Then it will never stop. Mine breed all the time, but I don't try to raise the fry. No time to devote to it.
I did catch this a few weeks back. Be sure to watch it in HD!

I'd try a different food, I use Larry's reef Frenzy.
I'm on my second pair of clowns, (had to sell the first pair due to a move) that spawned all the time for me.
Currently have a Snowflake and a Frostbite, started spawning less than 2 months after I got them.
They took a break about 6 weeks ago, which oddly coincided with when my tank took a dip as I got sick and tank maintenance dropped.
Since then I did like 8 water changes over a couple weeks, corrected a skimmer issue, they started right back up spawning.
So in short, clean water and quality food.

i have 2 snowflakes that have been together for 2 years and i found the first batch of eggs just recently. the clowns are hosted by a lavender mushroom (no nems in my tank) and she laid the eggs on the back of the mushroom rock. something came along and ate the eggs a couple of days ago but the clowns are back at it again.

I've had a pair for two and a half years and got the pair from a previous owner who had them for around 6 months to a year. I have never seen eggs. I am wondering if they might have laid eggs on the back of my rockscape though. Their behavior has not changed much at all over the time I've had them. I did see them cleaning a rock when I did a major aquascape change. Never saw any eggs. Now they tend to hang out at the top of the rock since I put a pygmy angel in there. She chased them pretty bad when she first got into the tank. Now they just "respect" her. Both had pop eye after she started fighting them. Now one still has it, but it looks to be healing. They been a bonded pair from day one with me. I'm not sure what I can do to encourage. I did get a BTA which they've ignored completely.

Fancy snowflake clowns don't host in BYA's. That's probably why they're not going into it
Hmmmmm....
