Clowns omnivorous?

i was just wondering if clowns are omnivorous?

today my clown knocked over a rock i have with some hair algae on it....i thought he just bumped it...so i fixed it...then he went right after it again...actually tearing at the hair algae..she seemed to be eating it...

perhaps my fish is overly hungry as i have cut food down to help eliminate the hair algae..

Mine will pick at nori for tangs and just about anything else. When mine are knocking over rocks, grazing algae, etc., they tend to be preparing nesting space.

I have a book that has table with the stomach contents of clowns. All species had algae in their stomachs. All the species listed had at least 25% of their diet from algae. Pink skunk clowns had algae making up 43% of their diet.

huh....very interesting then...

i would like to see them starting to breed that would be cool..i think they may be too young yet..but you never know..only been in my tank 10mo...they were newborns when i got them..about 3/4" long...now she is atleast 2" from nose to base of tail..and he is about 1 3/4" if that...closer to 1 1/2"
