Clowns

What is your thought on having multiple species of clown fish in a tank?

I was thinking about adding a pair of skunk clowns as well as a pair of ocellaris.

I have a 90 gallon mix grave with plenty of places to hide.

Unless you have a large tank, I've always been under the impression that one pair of clownfish is really all that should be added due to the aggression. (especially if they pair up) You might be able to get away with it in your 90 gallon tank, but be prepared to make some changes if worst comes to worst. GL.

I have a 50 breeder and had a pair of oscellaris and a pair of black saddleback. It went well for about 6 months until the black pair got bigger and then war broke out and my original orange clownfish were losing.

I got rid of the black pair and it took another two months before they left their little corner, I had to spot feed them.

As far as I'm aware clowns need to stay as a pair, unless you are creating a harem tank, in which clowns need to be juveniles and added all at once to avoid aggression. Along with plenty of homes and hiding areas.

I think as a rule, typically, a pair of clowns is about it.
