The break down of people running so far

I think we should put together a small group to handle the swap find new location if that's what we are doing and help with setup , break down and to get some more donation for the raffle

Not Sure what Mike is doing ?

but this is How is stands so far looks like we still need a little more Help

You could put me down as a helper for events i dont have a ton of time but i could def. put some time in assisting boardmembers with whatever i can ... setups ,teardowns ect.

While I'm certain someone may light me up for this, I have to ask:

I'm brand new to both SW and I just joined C-SEA at the frag swap. Needless to say, I don't know anyone, save Ben & Sean, nor do I know anything about anyone who is 'running' for these positions. While I'm astute enough to read posts, follow threads and generally determine who I feel is giving good information, bad information or no information, it's still on a fairly prehistoric level.

That said, how in the heck do I actively participate in this election in a meaningful way? I suppose if there are no choices for the various positions, it matters little to actually vote for anyone. I guess I'm asking: Who should I vote for???

Thanks for anything constructive!

To be honest with you the only reason that some of us run is because no one else will. We had no secretary last year part of the reason the swap raffle was smaller then last year. We also had no Liberian John hulled the books around because no one else would. So your guess is as good as anyones your knowledge of the hobby is not that important for most of the position on the board just the fact that you are willing to help others goes along way

rant over

Here is my dilemma. I would like to run for a position but don't really want to run against anyone that is wanting to try it for the first time or has been doing a great job so far. I am interested in the VP position as well and raffle chair position. I would even be interested in the swap comittee as well. Ben

I was thinking about nominating Jeff (Serpentman) for president since he has experience being the former president of a large reptile club. If he is willing to do the president's job I would throw my hat in for vice president or if Jeff would rather not accept the nomination I would be willing to run for president.

If we have positions that will have to be voted for I think we should have a thread going where someone can post a summary of what they feel they can do for the club and how their actions should improve the current state of things for C-SEA.

There could also be an absentee ballot on the www.c-sea.org website for those that aren't going to be able to make it to the meeting to vote but still feel it is important to have a say in what happens to their club. This way people can submit absentee ballots based on what they have read about the candidates and hopefully there is no mud-slinging like those politicians do ;)

This is just my 2 cents... hope it helps.

now that Jeff cancled his RC account and moved to another state it look like itzme gets the nomination the big question is what will Mike do ?

i also would like to see a absentee ballot due to the fact i have a business trip that i have to leave for the day of the meeting ....im so bummed

Umm, not sure what this means but I ahh, haven't moved or canceled my account?

Referencing the nomination, I have no issue with either position as I have had experience in both seats. It really comes down to what the club wants. Kevin has been around a while and would make an excellent Pres or VP so I am flexible. I am just glad to see that people are interested in taking positions.

Only If that Mike C guy who from all appearances does a great job decides to not run?

That's a shame that Jeff cancelled his account and moved away...for I was the 3rd hand up in favor of Jeff that serpent guy for nomination to C-Sea President or Kevin ItZme with either one being VP would be great.

If Kevin becomes C-Sea President wouldn't there be a name change to the Cleveland Reeftank DIY's club? ;) Sorry Kevin couldn't resist. Well enough play for one day, I have a house exterior to refinish.

(still too bad about Jeff)

Seriously though. Any of those 3 would provide continued positive leadership.

Hi,

I agree with Tom on a group of people for the next Frag swap in Cleveland. I would be more than happy to help find a site & work with the suppliers for raffle donations for next years Csea swap. I think if we put a small team of 2-3 people together we could find a great place with lots of parking & electricity. Maybe the new board will set up a special committee group to handle these kinds of special events.

I'm still debating what I want to do. Honestly, I am a little burn't out from last year and I feel like taking a break. On the other hand, there is a great bunch of people stepping up this year. I wish we had more of the great people within this club getting involved so that we could have a true election. The best evolutions in an organization can come from change. Maybe some else can step in and take the club to a new level. I think Kevin or Jeff would make great candidates for the pres and vp slots.

No problem, Thought maybe the reactor exploded or something!

I finally figured it out after I posted, LOL. Its been that kind of day

If someone can email me a list of people running for each position say a week before the meeting I can put a form on the site where people can vote online. Then we can bring those results to the meeting.

I like the idea of voteing ont the web page but unless someone runs against someone we wont have to do it
