As many of you know we are always trying to get new corals for the raffles. Well the other day Paul (prodman) on RC posted basically his entire tanks worth of corals over in Napa. So after a few conversations re: price and condition of the corals I was able to buy the whole packet and a few more that were not listed. The corals in general are pale and have had issues with growth due to a lack of time on Pauls part(new baby)
I picked up the corals yesterday having been rained out at work:mad:. Anyways, there were 26 differant corals ranging from frags to full colonies. So I spent the whole day(about 7 hours) floating, dripping, dipping and mounting corals.

Heres the list:1-Red Planet frag
1-Pink Lemonade frag
1-Minefield Cyphastrea frag
1-LE Lovelli acro 2" piece
1-true undata - small piece
1-Meteor Shower Cyphastrea small piece
1-very small Sunset Monti
1-5" Nobilis Stag colony
1-Suharsouoi colony 3" nice piece
1-Yellow Tort frag
1-2 1/2" Palleta Powder Blue Stag
1-Purple Godzilla large frag
1-Sunset Mille very small frag
1-Jedi Mind Trick Undata 2" piece
1-Ice fire echinata 1 1/2" piece
1-Strawberry Fields acro 1 1/2' piece
1-Clint's Red Stag frag
1-30K lokani Tiny nub
1-Pink Polyp montipora
1-Strawberry Patch montipora
1-Chili Pepper monti
1-Aqua Teburculosa montipora
1-Lime in the Sky stag frag
2-E-Corals Unknown acro 2" frags
1-Rosario 3" colony
1-Setosa frag
Theres the list, There all in the tanks now and some already have polyp extension. I'll keep you all updated regarding their condition and hopefully growth. I will need to make some room again as the frag tank is now full and I'm back to 2 frag racks in my DT. The club is going to pay for half of this load but I would like to make up some of the rest of it so I will be selling some of my duplicated frags and some of the zoas even. BTW I wouldn't advise anyone to process that many corals...Ever. Grant

I feel its crucial to point out the time, work, and planning to make this happen. Great job Grant and whoever else supported.

Can I prebuy my raffle tickets now. =)

Best,
Mike

We basically spent everything in the kitty for this load, so please buy your raffle tickets to rebuild the funds.

Great Job Grant !!! thanks for all of your hard work.

My tanks been having some trouble with heat issues(I think...) so it kinda died when I was in Ireland. :(

Soon as I get my controller set up I'll be happy to buy some stuff.

I'm in a bad place for buying new corals too. Current tank too full, new tank not ready. Does the club have a layaway policy, where if I win corals, I can leave them in the frag tank until I am ready for them :D

Thanks for all the hard work guys!

Hmmm since we are at the winery we can use one of their practices by selling corals futures .. LOL

+1 I'll take 10 tickets!!! However my current tank is rather full considering it's just a baby tank :) However soon as the new tank is up i will have loads of space

I was able to inspect the frags last night and Grant did an awesome job acclimating, dipping and mounting them. Well done and thank you Grant! They are generally pale but I expect will be coloring up nicely.

i know what you mean on that many frags, i had to do it a few weeks ago. My fingers were like pruns, i had superglue all over the place and went throguh 3 tubes of aquamend.

But good job on picking up the coarls. MY CAL and ALK are being sucked out of the tank with all the new coarls. The same will happen to you, keep watching it. But I'm sure you know that.

Yah I figured that would happen and had tha water ready for a partial water change and pulled 10 to 15 gals from the display and used that for a water change on the frag tank, changed the filter socks and refreshed the gfo and carbon in the reactor to give all the new guys as much help in settling in to their new digs as possible ;) The corals seem to be settling in well and about half of them are already showing varying degrees of polyp extension and very slight color improvement. Fingers crossed that they continue to improve.

Ahhhh Old man that was you huh? I saw Paul's post yesterday checked on a patient then looked again and they were sold lol.................. sob. nice sps lot. :smokin:

Yah Alex there were a lot of good names but they are in really poor condition and will take some time to recover. But when they do get there it will have been well worth the effort and money. Hopefully my tanks are up to it.
