Club Opinion Please on Skimmer Purchase

Need to upgrade my skimmer and have two prospective sellers to purchase from:

#1 MSX-250 about 1 year old and comes with extra sicce pump $330
#2 MSX-250a about 9 months old

As many of you know my system is a 125g DT, a 40g refugium, and a 20g sump. I plan to move to a 100g stock tank sump and start an invert-only nano within the system in the next month or so. New system will top 275g total.

I feel like the regular MSX250 would be enough and is a great deal. I'm just wondering (like everything else in the hobby), if I should figure out what I want and then go one step bigger and one step more expensive in order to be happy in the long run.

I've met many of you over the last year in person and would value your feedback.

You should considder an ASM G4X. It's rated up to 300g and I just happen to have one for sale. I could let it go for $375. It is 2 years old and runs like a top. It is powered by a Sedra 9000 pump and it slightly modded to empty the cup into a 5g bucket. Think about it!

PM me with interest.

Mike.

I would honestly consider a Super Reef Octopus 3000. It will run circles around everything else mentioned, and it's in the same price range. JMO
