Club tank at frag Swap

Ok members we are having a club tank at the frag swap. We are going to use my 29 gal and coral life compact lights. I do not have any frag shelves. So If someone has shelves we can use or someone can make some please let me know. I also need someone to take charge of setting up the tank. I will drop it off when the tables are delivered the night before but I do not have a RO/DI unit so it will need the salt water for Early am Sat.

Any club member ( that is current on dues) can bring frags to sell out of the club tank. We will also have a table for used dry goods to sell. We will have a sign up sheet for times to work at this table.
Thanks in advance.
Malisa

I have some eggcrate that we can use to make up shelves.

Probally even be able to do it Saturday at the meeting.

is there no way we could put the frags in there Friday night, so they will adjust and wont look so stressed Saturday? not that i have any, but i could bring some if i could talk cabinguy to come slice some off for me, Ive never done that before, what sells the best? is there a certain kind most are looking for? there's no need to bring stuff every ones got and no one wants, what are the to die for frags?

If we put them in Friday night they are not in a looked room and will be open to anybody walking into hall. It would be a gamble. We could put the water in Friday and how ever early you get their Sat am you can put your stuff in.

Do we trust that no one will walk by and dump something in the tank, unbeknownst to us?? We will also need heaters for the tanks.

Not that I am an expert but you never know what people are looking for. There is always someone who is new. I plan on brining some basic corals to see if they can go.

You attended the frag demo meeting; you should be good to go. There is nothing like jumping in and trying it. I did and so far everything seems to be doing fine.

Also IMO it is better to have frags there then none at all. It is a frag swap after all.

i agree

That is why we said sellers can start setting up at 7am. (OMG early on a Sat) but it would give the corals more time to open up and still be better than leaving the tanks unattended over night. I plan on leaving my "frag swap" water outside over night so maybe it will warm up pretty quick once I get it in the tank with a heater.

Richard has tanks we can use. Who can take charge of the club tanks?

Here is Richards suggestions for marking frags : just to put them in rows in the tank, and prices written on the glass. Another way would be for everyone to put zipties on their frags, and each person has a different color ziptie.

well my 180 is setting empty in the garage, and im only saying this because i want to see Steve & Jason flex their mussels again, LOL!!! just kidding they both can say that tank was heavier than they thought, my husbands still not standing up right,

Still looking for someone to take charge of the club tank. You dont have to sit with it all day. Just get it setup with water and such.

I have tanks, but need someone to get with me about what size they are interested in. I also have some lights and powerheads, etc. that you all can use. You will have to get your own water because as of now, I am using mine faster than I can make it.
