Lots more pictures (and I do mean lots) and the history of my entry into reefkeeping in a thread on NR.com here:

Tank diary thread

(beware it's an eleven page thread and still growing)

yznhmr- I was curious about the blue linckia's as well b/c mine died fairly quickly after I purchased it. So, I researched it a little and found out that the reason that Linckia's do so poorly in the home aquarium is because the collection of that species is brutal. These sensitive stars are physically mistreated right from the beginning. Your best bet is to find one that has survived in an aquarium for approx. 6 months. Try to get one from a fellow reefer instead of the LFS! You will have much better luck with them :)

Unfortunately, a lot of the collection of species in our hobby is brutal, thats why almost half never make it alive to the LFS...

:sad2:

Beats me as to why my blue linka stars have done so well. I have two blues and one orange and they seem to be very healthy. The zoo colonies have done well for me as well. Some colors seem to propagate a lot faster than others. I just leave them be at the bottom of the tank. One thing that I have found was that if you buy a rock with more than one zoo color chances are it won't be that way in the end. I had a rock before with three nice colors and now I only have one color left. Survival of the fittest I guess. Kind of a funny story I visited this thread today not remembering that I posted pics a 2 am. Needless to say a had a good night.

Here is another cool star pic...what color do you think their babies would be? My guess tie die:D

All of the tanks (and the swimming pool) are simply wonderful. Also, really good pictures. I cannot seem to get the hang of taking full tank pictures.

Here is a partial of my fairy wrasse tank.

I actually love it. We have had a few Vettes over the years, but nothing turns heads like that car.

Also, I think I was talking to you out at Rod's Reef a little over a month ago ... I was looking at the SPS and told you about Gus liking to eat the bubble algae ... was that you?

Yes we were in Rod's together. I don't remember what you bought, but you did buy something SPS wise. I too have had a Vette but a Viper is in a completely different league. I had a friend at work who owned one and he gave me a ride a couple of times. WOW.
