co2 tanks?

Anyone have a co2 tank to sell for cheap? Or do you know a place I can find one? Need it for my calcium reactor. 2.5# to 5# is ideal.

The welding supply place next to YR sells them. I would recommend nothing smaller than 5lb.

I have a 5# laying around and it's in great shape. $50. I prefer the 10# since you get a better deal at trade in, and most shops will only trade in, so you'll have a hard time finding a refill place, meaning . . . you won't have that nice shiny new bottle for long

If you have time, give this a try.. call up vending machine dealers and ask it they have any CO2 tanks for sale or they want to get rid of. I scored 3x 15lb tanks (2 were free, and 1 was $20). Tanks that size are primary used for soda fountain applications and are usually pretty old. The oldest steel one i've had was made in 1937 (pre-WWII!). It doesn't matter how old b/c most places do a tank swap and regularly check tanks every 4-5 years.

I used to live in Grass valley. I would go to the Airgas down the street from Taco Bell there in town. The bottles are not pretty, but you just trade it for a full one when empty.
