Coast-to-coast vs corner overflow.

So I've been planning my tank for a while now and I need to decide between the two types of overflow. I've heard that corner overflows are very quite with Durso standpipes for drains. But then I've heard mixed reviews coast-to-coast as well. So far I was thinking 120g with two corner overflows with the Durso standpies of course. Any suggestions?

edit: if there's a better or more specific section in which to post this question, let me know.

Thanks.

If you're doing a 4 foot 120g, then I'd go with 1 corner overflow. That's the size tank I have, but I only wish mine was in the corner. I have no experience in c2c overflows, but that's because I'm more of tried-and-true method kind of guy.

Depending on where the tank is located. For me I was going to get the 90 gal bow but hated the corner overflow...When you walk into the house It would block most of the tank. My overflow sits in the first thrid on the back wall

Are you custom building this tank? Why not do an external overflow in the back? That way you'll have more room inside the tank for your inhabitants. :)

Here's a great idea for overflows that a bunch of people are doing now. Click the link.

No the tank is not custom built. I was thinking of buying a "reef ready" system from Big Al's but seeing as how its $530 CAD I'm hoping to cut that expense down if I can by buying a used one and doing the overflows my self. Drilling will be done by professionals.

That silent and failsafe design seems really good. Especially the fact that it has an emergency drain. Thanks for pointing that out, I'll definitely keep that in mind. However, are there any disadvantages to that system that I should know of?
