Coco Worm Tube Too Long

Is it OK to cut a Coco worms tube? I just bought on and the tube is too long. It's shape like a big horse shoe totaling 15 inches. Is it OK to cut in half. Also How long is the worm inside?

Cutting the tube won't physically harm the worm but it will stress it out which is always bad. The worms move up & down inside their tubes to hide from predators. If you apply pressure to one part of the tube the worm will quickly move to the other end. A big coco worm might be 9 inches long relaxed & 5-6 inches contracted.
