ColdWater Reef

Got some stuff in today! Will post pictures when I get the chance (studying for final tomorrow).

Just realized tank is cloudy today, I've been out of the hobby for such a long time that I really have no idea what is causing this. Thought it was from the dust that my sand kicked up, but it's looking like a bacteria bloom.

Would a bacteria bloom even be possible? considering I only dropped in some live sand / rocks (bacteria) today.

Currently running water through a filter pad, and chemipure elite

It will clear up overnight Kataro. I'm hoping to join you all soon I'm this cold water adventure! No spoilers!

nice! How big of a tank are you planning?

Maybe we can all do a group buy from coldwateraquatic

Looking to get these!

I'm planning on something easy from Micro Reefs 2-4g in size.

Ah nice. I really suggest getting an AIO if you can. Depending on what you planned to keep, anemone dispense a lot of waste. And you can't really rely on just the bacteria to keep the nutrient down.

Need a place for filter pad / purigen or Chemipure, and other things to help you filter the water. And I always suggest go as big as you can! I'm already regretting not going bigger hah.

Baby Moonglow Anemone - This came as a hitchhiker in the sand!

Correct me if I'm wrong, I believe this is an Aggregating Anemone also... a bit bleached out? Cause coloration is more vibrant than the other aggregating anemone

Nice setup kataro! What type of fish is that? Is it hardy?

It's a Oligocottus snyderi (Lime Green Fluffy Sculpin) - name on site.

I think it's pretty hardy, very curious fish too. Always swimming up to the glass when I'm there, I have yet to figured out its diet though. Fed some cyclopeeze and small pieces of scallop but it just ignored it. I grabbed an amphipod from my other tank and it ate it.

gonna get some Mysis shrimp and try that when I can.

Mysis sounds like the way to go, if not just shoot Josh or Stu a message at CWMA. I know they've sold several of these guys to hobbyists and AFAIK they're all alive somehow, haha

I think they were flame polished. Not sure.

I just placed an order with Coldwateraquatic. Should arrives tomorrow or wednesday :dance:

Hey Kataro (this is AnthonyI work with Cesar) We actually wet sanded all the edges and then flame polished everything, makes a huge difference we think...

Hey Anthony! Tank is great! I might have to come back to you guys to get the lid cut though. Forgot I have wires running out of tank, so need a bit of room on the lid

Discovered these tonight... I think it might be the Sculpin eggs. That or the Periwinkles
