Colin's anglefish on DD last night?

Rare Angels

Hey everyone,

Did the colin's angelfish make it to the diver's den last night? The sneak peek had it listed but I never seen it, maybe it sold quickly.

Thanks
Dave

Hey Dave, it made it up... another GREAT fish from Tony Nahacky's Fiji operation... showing what can be accomplished when a tough fish goes though a top notch chain of custody... my colini pair is still spawning nightly after three years! :)

Dave,

For sure I thought it was you that bought it when it was gone. I was really tempted but didn't want any problem as I released the Venustus last night from the homemade acclimator after 2 days in it.

The little fish will eventually be going in with Megan's L. carmabi ;)

She should arrive tomorrow morning. :)

This is one of my favorite fish and I have been waiting to get one from the DD for a while. I hope all goes well with this little fish. The DT she will be going into only houses Megan's Candy Basslet so competition for food and space will be slim.

Pics to come....... maybe ;)

The tank she will be going in is maintained at 74-74 degrees, and the only other fish

Kevin,

I wanted to get it once I seen it on the sneak peek. You know these are one of my must have angelfish. Guess I just need to keep my eyes open for another healthy one.

Michael,

Glad to hear that you got it and it's going to a good home. Enjoy it!

Hey Michael, congrats! Honestly, before I got my pair in '06 they didn't do much for me, but man have they grown on me! These fish are so unique within Centropyge! They have very interesting behavior... you'll see... very "Paracentropyge" like behavior... and these are my most reliable spawners... I've never seen them take a night off (I'll refrain from making a joke about college here)... :D Oh... and Kevin had your specimen for over two months, so that sucker is settled!

Thanks John!

I am very excited about this fish. I know that Kevin has her well adjusted, and she is going to be introduced into a tank that will fit her needs perfectly. :)

Hey Michael, I hope it doesn't burst Megan's bubble, but the "she" you are referring to is most likely a "he"... :)

Michael,

Congrat on your new addition. I was tinkering the whole afternoon whether to get it or not especially after seeing picture when it was posted but just couldn't chance it. Can't wait to see pictures.

This excuse works particularly well with a newborn who "loves fishies and can't stop looking at them.....:lol2:honey I guess we have no choice but to buy another one...."

Gah, I just got off the phone with LA, I cancelled the order. The fish had to be a female, megan did not want a male. ;)

To show my ignorance, how can you tell this fish is a male?

And I would love to see a few pictures of your fish as well.

I'm not 100% sure but the way I see the Venustus is very similar to the Colin's angel. On the DD Colin's picture I see the end of the dorsal fin slopes straight down (where the female has more angle at the end).

Hope John can shed some light here.

Megan and I share tastes in tanks and fish. I have a little colini in with my carmabi and McCulloughs. I think she should be with me, instead of you, Mike. ;)
