Collecting from Ocean

Zack pretty well nailed it. The big draws to the BHB is free parking, easy beach entry, outdoor fresh water showers, and lots of critters. No reef, but plenty of critters. It's a good dive, and you'll often see more than you might might on a reef dive...other than coral.

As far as collecting goes....I'm not sure why so many people in the reef hobby have a negative perception of legally collecting your own marine organisms.

It gets even stranger when the same people being against collecting ornamentals have no issues with sport fishing or commercial seafood :lol:

Also don't be afraid to jump in the water with your snorkel gear in random spots that dont look very appealing from the surface. Ive found many cool species simply by stopping the car at any random rocky shore n taking a look... Theres cool stuff everywhere!
