colored lights?

if i were to get a n wennerae could i use colored flood lights to help my mantis turn that color? here is an example of one:

Good question. We don't have all the answers to that but I doubt that a red light would make red. In fact, red animals come from deeper water where the light is mostly blue. Also, from experiments that I have run, the colors reflected off the substrate seems really important. If I were trying to produce a red N. w, I would use dim blue illumination with no green algae in the tank.

For a green N. w, you need bright broad spectur (white daylight) with green background such as algae.

what other colores could they turn?

Various browns and tans with mottling. On white sand they can get pretty light, but always with some stippling.
