Coloring Up SPS

Curious are you referring to the blotch/tissue blotch sections top right? Do you have the ability to circle the area you may perceive to be aefw bites?

White circles on the skin. When you look closeup at acro skin you should see lines and intricate patterns, but no circular areas missing skin. AEFW start out small and leave tiny bite marks, which get bigger as the worms grow bigger. In my experience the first sign anything is wrong is the corals start to pale out, then on close inspection you can start to see the damage.

This really could be image artifacts though, so unless you can get a clear closeup there's no use fretting over blotches on a photo. :)

Good eye. I was not aware that pale coloration was an early indication/ symptom. Could be cause to Bring out the Bayer

Keep us posted following

Looks like I do have red bugs. Just took a macro photo and can clearly see little brown-orange bugs on acros.

I killed my red bugs with weekly Bayer dips. So far I think it worked. I bought interceptor but knock on wood haven't had to use it.
The Bayer killed the red bugs and I don't think Coral RX did.. which is probably why I got them to begin with. I was dipping all new stuff with CoralRx.

Shine a flashlight on corals you can see the redbugs easier. Even in daytime with flashlight.

I didn't. Not 100% sure if they're gone but I haven't seen any for a couple months. Colors and polyps have returned to normal. I dipped like a mad man for a long time. Pulled all acros out.
I was really doing it because I thought I had AEFW but turned out it was red planaria(and red bugs). SOmetimes in the dip the planaria looked like AEFW. And since the corals lost color and all that part was from the redbugs. I think I found some eggs too that was probably red planaria.
Anyway If I find one red bug I will break out the interceptor. I have it ready and waiting.

Also I inspect a lot to see if the RBs have returned.

Going to try and start Sentinel treatment tomorrow. I figure 1 pill should be enough. 180 gal plus 70 gal sump.

So, here's our control coral and I'm starting the treatment.

I guess a picture of a kid hugging a coral would be more appropriate.

Add some tank water (I've used 3/4 of a single large pill)

The tank does not know what's coming...

I caught that later when I viewed your video, sounds like you've played musical chairs with the bulb combo so now that you found the look you like let it ride for a good six months

Sorry to hear about the PBT. one of my favorites. And hope the kole shakes it off. Running UV?

Well back to sps. I'm surprised with no NO3 bases on your feeding. You must have a honking skimmer.

I saw your alk good at 8dkh but maybe a tad low. What's your daily alk consumption?

As another pointed out - patience. If any if those frags are wild pieces they can be more mysterious in how they shake out.

Thank you. Powder Blue has been one fish that I just don't have any luck with. I've gone through 5 over them in different tanks in the past few years, two times it has brought on an ich/velvet infestation that had decimated my tank. I am not running UV.

I'm using Bubble King 180 skimmer and even thought that it would be undersized for this tank.

I'm adding about 130ml of alk B-Ionic on a daily basis plus I have a kalk reactor that adds about a gallon of kalkwasser daily.
