Colt Coral Care

I had previously had a colt coral that lasted about 3 months until it finally shrivelled away into nothing. I had tried one years ago and it ended up doing the same thing. I am wondering if others that have had success with this coral can chime in on what they are doing that is successful. I have a thriving 240 gallon reef tank that all my other corals are doing exceptionally well in, but for whatever reason, I couldn't keep this coral. Water parameters are all normal with no swings or fluctuations. I kept it in medium flow and medium light initially before moving it to lower flow and light after it started going downhill.

Here is an old picture:

Very undemanding coral IME. From what you mentioned above I don't think your parameters, lighting or flow had anything to do with it. Maybe you just got a couple bad apples. This happens sometimes. Did you buy the corals from the same source?

The corals were bought from different sources.

Hmm.. The conditions necessary for these to thrive are about the same as a Sarcophyton, Lobophytun, Sinularia etc, so I'm not really sure what the problem is then.
FWIW I can't seem to keep Xenia alive for any period of time. There's always a problem it seems like.. Go figure...

I thought so too so decided to see if there was something I was missing. They're one of my favorite corals so would like to keep one but don't want to keep killing them.
