Combination of t5´?

Hi IÃ"šÃ‚´m upgrading my lighting finally after several months of saving money. IÃ"šÃ‚´m going for this set
48" Tek Light: 8-54W T5 HO Fluorescents (Black)

IÃ"šÃ‚´m very doubtfull on which bulb combination to choose. Reefgeek
has 54w 6000k midday sun, 54w 11000k aquablue plus, 54w actinic/blue plus and 54w pure actinic.

IÃ"šÃ‚´m inclined to getting 8 54w 11000k aquablue plus.
Any suggestions and advise on what to choose.
thanks.

My experience with T5 bulbs is somewhat limited, but if it was my decision I would go 2 6000k, 4 11000k, and two actinic. How much control of bulbs do you have with switches/cords on that fixture?

It has two powercords= two switches.

So you could do 2 actinics and 2 11000k come on first in the morning, then 2 11000k and 2 6000k for midday. Too bad it doesnt have three cicuits.

8 x 54 watt t5ho for a 100 fowlr? I think it is super overkill unless you want to count pods with the naked eye.

Thanks for the input, any suggestions on how much time after the first set comes on should I start the second set, and shutting off also?

IÃ"šÃ‚´m upgrading to a reef system, I actually have 2 xenias and one bubble tip anemone thriving thanks to some light from the window. The tank dimensions are 60"long x 23"high x 15.7" wide.

I would go for a 12 hour day, actinic comes on one hour before daylight, and stays on an hour after daylight. With all 8 lights on through the day.

David has it pretty much right on. Its really how you want your tank to look, (want it to look more blue or more white). If you want it to look more blue maybe switch out one of the aguablue+'s for the actinic. I like the more blue look so this is just my opion. Or maybe just get what david said and buy another actinic bulb so you can play with the color combo without having to pay for shipping again. my 2cents

Also I don't know what actinics david was talking about but I do believe the actinics/blue plus' will be a better actinic for coral growth.

Hmmm didnt notice two different actinics in the original post, and am unfamiliar on how differently each one appears. My reason for doing the 6k's was for coral growth.

Its all going to depend on your preference there and may take some experimentation with the blues until you get the color you want.

I still think 6 would cut it for this size tank. I have six and rarely have turned on all six for a 90. These guys are really bright. one aquablue+ and one actinic+ and I can"t put most shrooms above the 6" level. Lights are 8" off water!I turned on all six for three hours and my hammer shrunk up.

I was going for the 8 bulb option since IÃ"šÃ‚´m on the height limit for t5Ã"šÃ‚´s (24"). Also to grow in the future some hard corals if I wish to do so. How high is your tank?
I think I will have to buy one extra actinic like they mention to play around with the color tones.
