Come with me on my Custom 77 Gallon setup

Well, definately not good news on the RK2 front. I plugged in a lamp and when the temp gets to the cutoff setting, the lamp flickers about 10 times for around 1/4 to 1/2 second per. My guess is that is not good for a heater.

I'm going to let them know in the DA forum and see what they have to say.

I have had the lamp attached to the RK2 and it is still flickering on and off when at the cutoff temp. I am going to email Digital Aquatics to see what can be done. I haven't dealt with it in a little while now because life is rather busy.

I did make some new RHF 2 part last night. I was running out. Being a teacher I have the next two weeks off so will be doing some tank maintainence.

I have a ton of plans for the tank. Dosing pump for Alk and Calcium, frag tank, new skimmer, possible kalk reactor to help with pH at night, and bigger chiller (possibly DIY). But all of that is going to wait until after I get a fishroom. The city has the corrected plans for the new garage so hopefully permits next week. Construction probably won't start until after the 1st of the year, but should be done by May. Which means that during the summer all the above will at least be started.

I feel you on the permit process. It is a never ending load of BS :)
I thought I would be in full swing production with my cabinet buisiness by now but, I'm just finally getting all my tools out of storage and setting things up.

I did some long overdue tank maintainance today. finally cleaned the glass, etc.

So to mark (no not melev) the special occasion, some pictures.
:D

and the weirdest thing in Ice I have ever seen. We woke up this morning to this years first real icing and found this in the wheelbarrow. Now nothing was resting against the formation. It was just there.

Have a good Christmas everyone.

We're actually in the foothills east of LA, by about 70 miles, at about 3200 ft.

:) Year before last we got 12" of snow overnight.

Thanks Guys,
I find myself sitting on the couch and finally being happy with the way the tank looks. But we all know that won't last for long. I'll have to change something. :)

BTW: bummer about the Reef-zilla thread being closed :(

It does suck about reefzilla but, I could see it coming once Bill started posting, I think the Mods were watching that thread like a hawk. I do hope it gets reopened but, I'm not holding my breath.

Yeah, I was just waiting when I noticed every time that Bill posted it was the 1st post under a new name. too bad:(

Well, the permit was pulled today for our remodel. We are adding a new garage in front of the old one, changing the old garage into a Master Bedroom and adding a laundry room and deck. When that is nearing completion I will start on my new FISHROOM!! :D

Here is a picture of the plan so far. The 'room' will be 8' x 3' with two 3' doors (double doors). Everything will go on 2' wide shelves. With the electrical mounted on the 1' wall space. Not very big but I don't want to take up too much room in the garage.

Let me know your opinions, things are easy to change at this point.

Thanks
Keith

Well, no comments, that must mean it is the perfect plan.

I have been redesigning my skimmer so it will be external.

10" OD X 29" tall with 4"dia 8"tall neck. Tiny Might needle wheel!!

This will be positioned off of the shelf so will leave more room.

I put some PhosGaurd in a filter bag on the out from the skimmer. I am really sick and tired of bubble algae and I have had an outbreak of cryno. We'll see how this goes.
