Come with me on my Custom 77 Gallon setup

The electric bill has run in the $150-$170 range without AC and in the $300-$320 with AC, ever since I set up the tank..
The bill came this month and was $58 !!!!!!!!! Could the Pan World 100Xpx be using that much!!!

$58 or $580? I'd love a $58 electric bill.

I got the new heaters. They seem like nice heaters but I wish the you could calibrate the temp. One reads 76 degrees while the other read 78, while my actual temp is 80.4 degrees.

The heaters seem to be heating well though.

Did a 15 gallon water change yesterday. And changed out the carbon. Tank is looking good overall, but I had a small Pocillopora that RTN'd over the weekend. Not sure what is going on with that. Everything else seems fine.

Great looking tank. Although photos are not good at showing depth I can see the layout has a good sense of depth.

Here are a copple of suggestions:

- Open a bit more space on the right, moving the zoanthus (?) near a coral with similar color. You would get a larger bay on the right;

- Put the 2 euphyllias close and you'll get a large rock structure on the left-centre and a smaller one on the right.

But the tank already looks great, congratulations.

WOW! Great photoshop abilitities.

And the move really does look better. Next time I have my hands in the tank I'll try it out.

Thanks for the complements,
Keith

I am beginning the planning stages of the garage fish room.

I just got the epoxy floor coating system. It is meant for Airplane Hangers and Vet Offices. I'll get that done by the end of Novemeber, it takes 4 days to complete, drying times in between coats.

I'll post some drawings of my plan for the fishroom and the sump. I do need to build my workshop before I can build the sump and stuff.

As usual this will take me a while.

Keith

PS: Our Solar Power Array got installed yesterday, waiting for final approval from the Power Company, Edison, to turn it on. :D

I got rid of my closed loop. The Pan World was using way to much power, and too noisy. Right now I have replaced it with an in tank Koralia 4 at 1200 GPH. Which is more than the CL was anyway. I am saving up for a Vortech with Battery Backup.

I am trying to get pictures soon, remodel and tank. And working on plans for the fishroom and sump, fuge, frag tank, etc.

Hey Keith were you been? Didn't see you at this months club meeting? Anyway, post those pics it will be nice to catch up on you progress/changes. Hey I was having heat issues and was looking to swtich out my panworld 50pxx on my CL. I can't get rid of my CL as I have way too much $$$ tied up in that line set LOL, like 6 bulkheads through the side of the tank and the OM squirt 4 way! Anyway, was looking for a pump to replace my PW but haven't run across anything that will come close on the heat/noise. My panworld is actaully pretty quiet. I did change out my freedom filter/skimmer unit with Rio 2500 pump for a aquamedic 1000 turboflotor multi w/ ocean runner 2500 NW. I will also take my in sump urchin w/ MJ1200 off line (long story). The switch out is around a difference of 50 + watts. This single change (actually without taking the MJ1200 off line) has cut my evap fans running duration in more than half. So far so good. I may add a small tunze nanostream 6025 so make up for my flow loss. Anyway, hope you are well. I won't be able to make the meeting in Nov as I will be traveling for Thanksgiving holiday.

I don't make very many meetings ever since we switched to week nights.

Look into a Laguna 2400 pump, huge flow, low power.

Any update Keith? Maybe you are going to make us wait until after the first of the year for an update and pictures?

Mike

No updates right now. I have been in the do the minimum to the tank mode right now.

I don't know how much I'll be posting on reefcentral anymore. I couple of things have happened on other threads that have left me feeling that the mods and admin on reefcentral are exercising selective enforcement of people that they don't personally like. I find this a bit in the not right column of life. I personally have been told to keep my nose out of it, which I find strange since I have never posted or done anything that could be considered a violation of the User Agreement.

I may well get banned for these comments, and if I do, well, that would just prove my point wouldn't it.

Keith
