Compatability of Tangs and Angels and Wrasses

I'm looking at adding some more fish to my 400G tank. My current stocking is a large Pink Tail trigger, Large adult Majestic Angle, Pair of large Lemonpeel angels, Coral beauty angel, Ebili Angel, 4 occaliris clowns( One breeding pair w/2 sub adults), Copper Banded Butterfly, Red line wrasse, Pair of yellow headed sleeper gobies, royal grama, bi color blenney and a pair of green chromis.

Here is what I'd like to add but am worried about some of the compability with the tangs and angel. I've had a pair of Naso tangs in the past, male and female, with no problems.

Naso tang
Blonde Naso tang (will these two get along?)
Juvinle Blue Ring Angel (Annularis Angel) ( will he get along with my Majestic?)
Purple Queen Anthias ( 5 of these)
Carpenter Flasher Wrasse (3 of these)
Divided Leopard Wrasse
Exquisite Fairy Wrasse (3 of these)
Filament Flasher Wrasse (3 of these)
McCosker Flasher Wrasse (3 of these)
Moorish Idol (had my last one for over 4 years) (A matched pair if I can find one)
Long Nose hawk fish

Will several wrasses be Ok or should I just go with one each? If I can find males and females, then I know I could go 1 male and 2 or 3 females. But not sure I can find both. If all I can find is males, will it be ok and will some of them revert back to female?

You seem to have a lot of experience (definitely more than me) so I will just comment what I know. I've kept multiple angels before and aggression is always a risk. It may not happen right away but usually does eventually. However, majestic angel is pretty mild tempered and usually doesn't go attack other fish. I don't see how having an annularis and a majestic angel in a large 400 gallon would be a big issue. Getting a juvenile annularis would be the right decision so that the large adult majestic does not see him as a competitor.

i also have a pair of naso tangs (male 7.5" and female 6") and absolutely love them. i don't know if a regular naso would get along with a blonde, and i've never heard of them pairing up. that doesn't mean it won't happen though but i would do more research if i were you.

The wrasses shouldn't be an issue as none of them are large ones. The tank is large and if the rock work are dense with a lot of hiding areas you should be fine.

I would skip the purple queens as they are just about as close to a full time job as it gets with anthias. Maybe a different species that's easier to care for.

As for the other fish, mostly you'll have to feel it out as you go. I suggest setting up a smaller tank to keep fish in before you add them to the display so they are healthy, eating, and disease free before they go in. It will likely be helpful to seek out small specimens of each. For most fish it's best to get them small and let them grow.

I wouldn't try it without a second tank setup. That is for sure.

Sandwi54, I loved my pair of naso's. My male was 12"+ plus his streamers. female was pushing 11". They were pushing at least 8 years when I lost them to a power outage. I've fixed that problem so I shouldn't have an issue in the future. The were the prize of my tank. I'd like to try a blonde this time witha regular, if not, then maybe a pair of blonde's. I'll keep researching.

here's a teaser pic for you from back in '08.

shellback, a while ago i lost all my fish during a power outage. i was on vacation and the power outage false tripped the GFCI circuit. No one was home immediately to reset it and all my fish died. i learned my lesson and built several fail-safe systems. i will also plug the tank equipment into normal outlets when i need to leave for an extended period.

Naso tang
Blonde Naso tang (will these two get along?) If possible, a pair of these
Juvinle Blue Ring Angel (Annularis Angel) ( will he get along with my Majestic?)
Purple Queen Anthias ( 5 of these) Very Difficult but not impossible if you can continuous feed them.
Carpenter Flasher Wrasse (3 of these) M+ FFF would work great
Divided Leopard Wrasse Assuming you have fine sand (looks like you do) and can find a healthy one
Exquisite Fairy Wrasse (3 of these) Harem is fine
Filament Flasher Wrasse (3 of these) Harem is fine
McCosker Flasher Wrasse (3 of these) Harem is fine
Moorish Idol (had my last one for over 4 years) (A matched pair if I can find one)
Long Nose hawk fish Assuming no shrimp . . .

None of your wrasses will revert to being female

Your tank pic ^^^ is beautiful, some really nice healthy looking fish in there. That is a great fish list. Finding females of all those wrasses gonna be difficult. As for the Queens, they're a lot of work but a beautiful addition if your up for it. Best of luck with it, let us know how it works out.

Sandwi,
That's what happened to me, GFCI tripped and I woke up at 2 am to silence. I now have GFCI breakers instead of outlets. They work a lot better. ;)

snorvich,
Thanks for the input. So you think a pair of Blonde naso's vice one each?
I may reconsider the queens then. But I've kept difficult fish before with success so who knows. having a big tank with plenty of natural food helps. ;)
I've had several Lepoard wrasses in the past in this tank with sucess. The sand is actually Hawaii beach sand, imported from Hawaii. You can buy it at the Home depot There. ;)
I wasn't sure about the wrasses reverting back, so thanks for answering it. I'll have to be on the lookout for some females then as mostly only males come in.

aquaph8, Thanks for the comment. That is an old pic. Unfortunatly, I lost most of those fish in my power outage. I've still got the pink tail trigger in the pic. One of the few survivors.

Shellback, sigh it always sucks to lose fish due to power outages. i still miss all my fish even though i moved on and got replacements of the same fish.

I will look into GFCI breakers. Thanks for the tip!
